Access for All

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services , CheckUP Australia is running an online course that aims to improve disability awareness among health providers and increase understanding about the barriers people with disability experience when accessing healthcare.

The course is free and available until 30 June.

It is suitable for all health professionals, health administrators, health reception staff, and students and:

- increases awareness of the barriers faced by people with disability when accessing healthcare
- enhances person-centred care by providing strategies and resources to assist health providers to reduce barriers and increase the accessibility of their services for people with disability
- helps health providers understand legislative obligations for providing equitable, inclusive care for people with disability
- includes a training app that allows the player to experience healthcare through the eyes of people with disability
- earns CPD points for 35+ health professions and supports health accreditation standards
- takes 2.5 – 3 hours to complete in total, but can be completed in short intervals.
